2023 - Suese's Treasure

The discovery of a treasure of 175 silver denarii from the Roman era took place on November 9, 2021 in the woods of the Bellavista Insuese estate.
The Tesoretto, almost intact and complete, opens a glimpse into the knowledge of a tormented period in the history of Rome, that of the social war first and the civil war between Sulla and the Marian army: it tells us about the enlistment of the penniless who could have earned a salarium, with which, once discharged, they can return to their land and agriculture.
